MSC Magnifica....Magnifique!!!!

Well as promised I am writing about my experience onboard the MSC Magnifica which some of here at cruise.co.uk got to stay on at the weekend. As we arrived at the Port in Southampton I was suprised at the size of the ship...it was a lot bigger than I thought. The check in was quick and efficient and the staff were very friendly.
As we arrived at our cabin, which was a Balcony Cabin on Deck 12, I was very impressed. The room was spacious and modern looking. The balcony had a nice table and chairs and due to the height of Deck 12, would have fantastic views. (I can't comment on how fantastic as we stayed docked in Southampton, so our views were of Ikea!!).
Once settled we went on a tour of the ship which was where I really got to see the sheer size of the ship and the fantastic decor. Then deciding it was time for lunch so we headed over to the main buffet restaurant. There was alot to chose from, including hot meats, salads, pastas, chips/potatoes, desserts and fruit. I had read several reviews about MSC saying the food wasn't up to scratch, but I have to say I thought the buffet lunch was nice and restaurant had a lovely location with full sized glass surrounding it, so I imagined being sat there whilst docked in a beautiful port and how spectacular that would be. We spent the rest of our time sampling cocktails and testing out all the bars. They have a sports bar which was brilliant. It was decorated in bright colours with sporting pictures everywhere. There were more than enough TV Screens so you would always be able to watch your favourite sports. They also had a pool table which went down very well with the men from cruise.co.uk. The Tiger bar was a firm favourite of mine, decorated and designed around a tiger print theme. There were designated smoking bars too which was ideal for those who didn't want to stand on a cold dock in Southampton!! Dinner was in the one of the main restaurants, L'Edera. It was spacious and well designed. The food was ok.....I can't say it was amazing because it wasn't, but it was certainly better than I expected. I found the choice of meals limited, but then again I am a very fussy eater. After dinner we went to the Royal Theatre for the evening show which I have to say was very good. Announcments were made in 3 languages, English being the first. There were singers, dancers, Acrobats and many more. Then the night turned to drinking and dancing in the various bars to choose from. We also had a taste of the onboard Casino, where luckily we were playing for fun not for real money!! The night ended shortly after this for me due to an early start back to work the following day.

All in all I was extremeley impressed and would highly recommend MSC, especially with their prices being so good.
Pictures will follow..

On certain sailings at the moment, MSC are offering Free Car Parking at Dover or Free Coach Transfer to Dover. With 11 night cruises from only £849.
