Tea...? Coffee..??

I recently made a booking for a gentleman and his wife who were about to cruise with Cruise and Maritime Voyages for the first time. He found the cabin he wanted and a price that suited him, so everything was great. Until......he read our review site and found that someone had written a review saying Cruise and Maritime Voyages do not have tea and coffee making facilities in the cabins. This was important to him. He liked a cup of tea before bed and as soon as he wakes up.
I looked into it for him and the reason they (and some other cruise liners) don't have them in the cabin is simply for health and safety.
He wanted to be able to take his own travel kettle with him but this would have to be checked through and agreed before you board the ship. This could be quite risky.
I'm not a tea or coffee drinker myself so I guess I can't appreciate and understand the importance. But I am assured by friends and family that that first/last cuppa is very important!!
My personal advise would be to not take your own kettle with you, but to look into other options, i.e. Room Service - you could order it to your room whenever you want. Guest Services - Talk to guest Services, they may be able to accomodate you. Coffee Shops - most cruise ships have cosy coffee areas where you can sit and relax with a nice cappucino that has been made for you, and brought to your table without you lifting a finger. I know what I would prefer!!
